Kothari Medical Centre, headquartered in Kolkata, is regarded as Eastern India’s top tertiary care hospital. Shri G.D Kothari, a philanthropist of stature and foresight, founded the Centre with the goal of bringing together under one roof, doctors with the best medical and surgical abilities, as well as the best diagnostic and surgical facilities.
The Kothari Centre for Gastroenterology became a reality in 1971. This laid the groundwork for one of Kolkata’s most high-performing medical facilities, the Kothari Medical Centre. This institute located at 8/3 Alipore Road, Kolkata, it is a magnificent 10-storey, 360-bedded centrally air-conditioned hospital where old medical heritage and values meet contemporary medical practices.
The motto “Dedicated to Specialised Medical Care” reflects the institute’s long-standing tradition of service excellence and commitment to providing the best possible patient care and comfort to patients during their stay in the hospital through comprehensive medical services ranging from diagnostics and investigations to various therapies, surgeries, and post-operative care.
A second unit of Kothari Medical Centre in Bikaner serves the same aim of offering exceptional medical knowledge and care. This multi-faculty super specialty hospital with 150 beds and sophisticated technologically advanced equipment was opened on March 2, 1998.
In the year 2020, Kothari Medical Centre started GNM and B.Sc. (Nursing) programme under the name of Kothari Institute of Nursing which in days to come will provide much needed support to the healthcare industry in meeting the demand for quality nurses.
